Best racing drones for beginners

So, you’ve seen some nice drone racing action on YouTube, or maybe even had the pleasure to experience it live, and now you are looking for an easy route to flying one of these amazing things on your own? If so, then we’ve got you covered with a list of best beginner friendly racing drones on the market in which you will, no doubt, find an appropriate drone for yourself.
Through the recent years drone racing has become quite popular and the need for entry level racers has skyrocketed. Many brands, new and old, started taking that opportunity and building cost effective racing drones to cover the market demands. A couple of years ago the only option to start racing was to build your own drone out of different parts ordered online. Finding those parts was just the beginning and putting a drone together required extensive knowledge and work. Now, the number of affordable prebuilt racing kits and packages enables anyone to take on drone racing at merely a click of and online order button.

We will also separate our list into two categories. First part will cover factory assembled drones which can’t be disassembled nor heavily modified and the second part will cover prebulit racing drone kits which can easily be modified and upgraded. We covered all of these racing drones in our recent reviews so if any of these little things catches your eye feel free to check them out by clicking their picture.

Factory assembled drones

Factory assembled drones are usually more affordable and suitable for those who are looking to try drone racing in a casual environment all the while not spending a whole lot of resources, mainly set up time and money. They, however, have almost zero upgrade and modification capabilities and are best suited for those who just want to try drone racing without any serious competitive goals. These are basically serious toys which are easy to use and designed purely for fun. While they won’t make you a serious flyer they are extremely good to check if drone racing is the sport for you or if you are in it just for some pure and simple fun.

Prebuilt racing kits

Prebuilt racing kits are custom built drones using the manufacturers tested and optimized part combinations. This makes them highly efficient, affordable and a level above most factory assembled drones. They also require a bit more to set up but are easier to maintain and upgrade if you are looking to take your racing drone to new heights. Most of these can take a heavy beating and have props that are easy to get and even easier to replace making them more durable for some serious racing. Racing kits are suitable for anyone willing to test the competitive side of  FPV drone racing but aren’t yet confident enough to build a complete racer themselves.
